Elizabeth Flesher, December 12, 1782 - December 23, 1862, was born in Highland County, Virginia. In 1803 she married Edward Janes*, February 2, 1783 - April 11, 1861. They moved from Virginia to Indiana in 1826. Then by ox team in 1840 to McLean County, Illinois. (Edward was an officer in a Virginia Regiment during the War of 1812). Both were buried in Scroggins Cemetery near Lexington, Illinois. There nine children were all born in Pendleton County, Virginia.

George Michaels No More

He was one of Our Earliest and Oldest Settler, a Grand Man andAttained an Age of Nearly Ninety-four Years. The funeral OccurredTuesday Afternoon.

The venerable George Michaels, one other oldest and earliest pioneerresidents of Wyandot county, was found dead in bed at the home of hisson-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Wentz, in Richmondtownship, Monday morning, death having supposedly come during thenight while the old gentleman was asleep. The funeral occurred lastTuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Interment being made in the Bachmanncemetery, in Salem township.
Mr. Michaels was one of the grand old men in the county, having comehere in its early history and for years labored industriously to clearaway the forest so that future posterity could reap the benefits ofhis industry. Had Mr. Michaels lived until the 22d instant he wouldhave been ninety-four years of age. He was the father of Ex-Sheriff Michaels, of this county, now deceased. Another child, a daughter,married Jim Wright, a Wyandot Indian, and went west with the Wyandots in 1843, and his lived there ever since, never returning here even to visit. There are four other children living: Hugh Michaels, of Indiana, Mrs. Jacob Wentz and Mrs. Amanda Coppler and Ross Michaels.
