I'am looking for information on any members or those who may share the same name Graley or who know of relatives that married into the family name. Some surnames I came across are: BUTCHER,GENTRY, COCKERHAM, LITTLE, GILMORE, MULFORD, BREWER.My grandmother was Mamie Graley, she married a Greek man by the name of George Pappas Vanvakinos. Grandma was born in WestVirginia, on March 19, 1902 she died:in l969. Her father was Andrew Jackson Graley. I'm not sure if her mother was Almuntine Likens or Rhoda McCormick? I believe there were 17 children born in this marriage. Great-great grandfather owned a grocery store in McCorkle, WV. in the county of Lincoln. I understand he is buried in a cemetry in boone county next to Rhoda McCormick. I was told by my grandmother that we come from Irish stock. I did find the name GRALEY in Australia, but not in Ireland. My mother was one of three children born to Mamie and George. First there was John Pappas Jr. killed in WWII in France. Mary Jane, who married Hugh Crawford and my mother Irene May who married James H. Vossinas. My grandparents moved up north to New York City. If anyone has any information I would appreciate it. I will share whatever I find out with you also. Thank you Angie Vossinas-Merkiche |
