John Montgomery Riedle, born December 13, 1866 in Wilberton Twp., Fayette County, Illinois, married Nellie Aderholt, born October 31, 1874, in Kaskaskia Twp., Marion County, Illinois, on August 29, 1897 in Fayette County, Illinois. John Riedle died on July 5, 1928 in Vandalia, Fayette County, Illinois. Nellie Aderholt Riedle died on July 11, 1954, in Vandalia, Illinois.

John's mother was Elizabeth McConnell, born on August 20, 1840, in Wilberton Twp., Fayette County, Illinois and died on February 28, 1897 in Fayette County, Illinois. On February 26, 1866, she married Leonard Riedle, a Civil War veteran, who was born February 13, 1842 in Germany, and who died April 15, 1898.

John's grandmother was Rebecca McConnell who was born February 16, 1822 in Tennessee and who died January 1, 1884 in Wilberton Township, Fayette County, Illinois.

John's grandmother's parents were Daniel McConnell (1767-1832)and Milly Blankenship (1791-1869. Milly's parents were Rhoda Meador (1770-1862) and Hezekiah Blankenship (1767-1816), who each can be traced to Virginia in the mid-1600's.
