In 2003 I ended up with a huge amount of family memorobelia, including old photos, bibles, and various other family artifacts. Using these items, my wife Trish and I were able to trace back several generations to an Adam Wagle.

My curiousity sparked I began to look into the family history. As with many genealogy buffs, I became immersed in "solving" the mystery of my own family history. I love the excitement of uncovering a new fact that had been lost to the family.

I consider my immediate family to consist of the Wagle, Howells, Marchek, and Varhola clans and am most interested in those branches of the family tree. The Marchek's and Varhola's came to the USA in the mid 1920's from Czeckoslovakia and it is exceedingly difficult to get reliable information on them.

The Howells are fairly well established, genealogically speaking. There's a Howells-L mailing list, and the branch of the Howells that joins up with the Wagles has a family reunion in the Pittsburgh, PA area on a regular basis.

The Wagles go back many generations in the PA area until John Wegel (b. 1718), and from there have spread to most every corner of the country.
