My research includes the names of Bear, Birston, Fleming, Irwin(Irvine),Kirkness, Mowat, Omand,Tate(Tait). These men were mostly born in Orkney Isl. Scotland, or Western Canada. They married native women and many lived in the Red River Settlement.
