Verna Bell
Verna Bernice Bell, 78, died Thursday, at 6:30 pm. at DeKalb Memorial Hospital.
She lived at 109 Wesley Park Apartments, Auburn and retired with 10 years of service from Cooper Industrial Products in 1978. She was a member of the Indian Village Church of God, the Waterloo VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the Auburn Women of the Moose Lodge.
Mrs. Bell was born Aug. 15, 1912 in DeKalb County to Howard and Blanche (Baughman) Franks.
She married George Wesley Bell Sr. in Auburn in 1932. He died in 1973.
Surviving are one son, George Wesley Jr. of Waterloo; two sisters, Mrs. Ardis (Frieda) Potter of Farmer, Ohio, and Mrs. Henry (Alma) Lung of Hamilton; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Bell of Waterloo, Jerry Bell of Angola; and three great-grandchildren, Kelsy, Erica and Nicholas Bell.
Five sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. in Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo.
A private graveside service will be held Monday in the Fairfield Cemetery, rural Corunna, with the Rev. Don Dennison officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the DeKalb County Cancer Society.
