He married (3) ELLEN WOLFE August 03, 1879 in Van Zandt Co., TX., daughter of SOLOMAN WOLFE and MARTHA GEORGE. She was born July 08, 1835 in Holmes Co., Miss.

William Scrivner Fitzowens Wilkins was married first to unknown. It was said by his Wilkins family that he lost his wife and family to a Malarial epidemic. However one child, a daughter Josephine survived. He went to a boarding house after his arrival in Logansport, LA with his infant daughter. The Innkeeper, a Mrs. Corey, took care of Josephine, and later, her daughter, Sarah Corey, married William S. F. Wilkins.

She was the eldest of a large family and idol of her fond parents heart......In August 1878 she joined the Baptist Church in Gilmer...A few months previous to her joining the church, she was married to S.C.C. Wilkins, son of Mr. W.S.F. Wilkins and Mrs. S.M. Wilkins..."
