2. ELIJAH7 QUICK (JUDGE JOHN6, JOHANNES5, THOMAS4, JOHANNES3, THOMAS THEUNISSEN2, THEUNIS THOMASZEN1) was born February 25, 1802 in Harrison ( or Scott ) County, Kentucky, and died January 12, 1853 in Liberty, Wabash County, Indiana. He married MARY " POLLY " SAILORS March 01, 1821 in Franklin, County Indiana. She died Bet. 1843 - 1844 in Liberty, Wabash County, Indiana.

Notes for ELIJAH QUICK:
Elijah Quick was born in Harrison Co., KY. and spent his first years there. He moved with his family to Butler Co., Ohio, then in 1809 the family moved to land, later known as the Quick Homestead, in Brookville, Franklin Co., Indiana. There he married Mary "Polly" Sailors. They then moved to Rush County IN. where agriculture was his occupation. About 1837 Elijah moved to Liberty, Wabash County, IN. where he was fairly well - to - do. He joined with a Mr. Dortch to open the second general store in America, Liberty Twp. On Mar. 2, 1842 he was appointed Postmaster of America. He served until his death. Elijah was a Justice of the Peace in Liberty Twp. In late 1843 or early 1844 his wife, Mary Sailors Quick died; and on January 25, 1845 Elijah married Sarah Ray. In Franklin County he belonged to the Little Cedar Grove Baptist Church; in Wabash County he was a member of the Little Antioch Baptist Church. Elijah Quick died January 12, 1853 and is buried in the Old Quick Burial Grounds in Franklin Co., Indiana. He was the father of fourteen children, all by his first wife, Mary Sailors Quick.
