She married DAVID ISAIAH JONES July 04, 1894 in Gilmer, Upshur Co., TX.. He was born September 09, 1874 in Harrison Co., TX., and died April 04, 1956 in Gilmer, Upshur Co., TX..

Notes for IDA JEANETTE QUICK:
Ida Jeanette Quick's mother, Josephine, died in childbirth with the birth of her last child, Guy Halifax Quick, when Ida was only four years old. Her father, William Gipson Quick hired a lady to care for the children, but the arrangement didn't work out. Josephine's stepmother, Sarah Corey, had a younger sister Melissa, that had always been close to Josephine and she took the children home with her so she could see to their needs.

Ida Jeanette Quick married David Isaiah Jones of Harrison Co., TX. She bought land in James, Upshur Co., TX. and there they made their home. Several members of the Jones family, including myself, still own part of that land. ( the community was renamed Diana, TX. ) She and Dave had ten children.

"Granny" was totally deaf, and lost her life when her home burned and she was unable to escape. Her grown sons made several trips back into the burning house trying to rescue her, but was unable to find her in her room. It was in January, snow was on the ground. The fire was most likely caused from a spark from the fireplace.
