Descendants of John Waggener

5. DINAH2 WAGGENER (JOHN1) was born Bet. 1680 - 1685 in Virginia, and died 1751 in Essex Co., Virginia. She married ERASMUS WITHERS ALLEN, son of JOHN ALLEN and BARBARA WITHERS. He was born Abt. 1671 in Middlesex Co., Virginia, and died Abt. 1720 in Essex Co., Virginia.

Notes for D
INAH WAGGENER:
From the various records it appears that Dinah was the 6th or 7th oldest of the 8 children born to her parents, John and Rachel Waggener. I have estimated that she was likely born between 1680 and 1685.

Notes for E
RASMUS WITHERS ALLEN:
From Essex County: An Annotated Copy of the Rent Roll of 1704, by John Bailey Calvert Nicklin:
Erasmus Allen (d. 1720; married Dinah Waggoner) is listed as paying taxes on 100 acres in 1704, and 350 acres in 1715.

=================

****** A deed of 'Lease and Release' dated March 6, 1714/15 (Essex County Deeds and Wills, 1714-1717, p. 347); John Chick of So. Farn. par. sells Erasmus Allen of same par., 150 acres in So. F. par., being part of 1563 acres formerly granted the said Chick by Mr. Edwin Thacker and to the said Thacker by Patent dated 20 of April 1687. Adj. land of Thomas Hucklecot, land of James Taylor, land of James Boughan, land of Andrew Dyer and land of John Gatewood. Lease signed John x Cheeke, Sinor X Cheeke. Wit. John Allen, Herbert Wagoner, Jane x Richason.

This piece of land is apparently very near to the land of Dinah's parents, John and Rachel Waggener, which had been described as being adjacent to the land of Jame Taylor. Witness John Allen is probably Erasmus and Dinah's son, and Herbert Wagoner is apparently Dinah's brother.
