| Thank you for visiting my Family Tree Maker genealogy page. I am researching the families of Wagner, Kobierski, Pastuszak, Kawecka, Robinson, Blair, and Wells. My current focus is on John Robinson, Sr. who enlisted in the Revolutionary war in Loudoun, Virginia and on Peter Wells who was from Bucks County, Pennsylvania and enlisted in the Revolutionary War in Tanneytown, Maryland. John Robinson, Sr. received land in Hamilton County, Ohio as pension for his service in the Revolutionary War. John is buried in Rushville, Indiana. His son John lived in Jasper County, Indiana in Hanging Grove Township. The family lived in the area of Rensselaer, Indiana in Jasper County. My Grandparents (on my father's side) were children of Polish immigrants. My grandmother, Marie, is the daughter of Stanislawa (Stanley) Pastuszak and Tillie Kawecka. Not much is known about Stanley. Although, I may have a possible match of his obituary from the "Dziennik Chicagoski", Chicago's Polish daily newspaper, for the years 1890-1958. It reads: Stanislawa Pastuszak, see Domski, Stanislawa obituary, 21 Nov 1955. Stanislawa Domski, died 11/21/1955 comment: Pastuszak obituary, 21 Nov 1955. Tillie died in 1970 and is buried in Patton Cemetery in LaPorte, Indiana. Phillip is the son of Frank (possibly Franciszek) Wagner and Wanda Kobierski. Frank was born sometime in 1879, in Slesin, Poland and died sometime around 1930-1931, in Chicago, Illinois. Wanda was born sometime in 1883 in Skulsk, Poland and died sometime in 1927, in Chicago, Illinois. I have a possible obituary match for both Frank and Wanda from the "Dziennik Chicagoski": Franciszek Wagner, died 3/1/1930 Obituary, 3 Mar 1930 Wanda Wagner, died 12/16/1927 Obituary, 17 Dec 1927 Names showing in Wanda's obituary: Wiktorja Borczynska, Mieczyslaw Kobierski, Franciszka Laczkowsk. I am not sure of the relation between the people in her obituary and Wanda. I have not yet written to the Polish Genealogical Society for copies of the obituaries on Frank or Wanda. I am also in the process of writing a letter to the priests of the Catholic churches in Slesin and Skulsk. I am hoping to find someone to translate the letters for me. This letter, I hope, will help me contact any existing family in the area and information on the deaths (graves) of other members of the family. |
