GOUGH: Elvin Winfield Gough married Jeannette Lewandowski before he married my grandmother. Briefly I had contact with SanJan and would like to renew that connection. Please contact me again so I can tell you about our grandfather Elvin Winfield Gough. On this line, the most distant ancestor that has been traced is a William GOUGH, born about 1801 in England, who married Hannah PRICE in 1833 in Deer Creek, Harford County, Maryland. One tree on Ancestry.com connects him as the son of Harry Dorsey Gough, but this is very unlikely since Harry Dorsey was in Maryland long before William was born. JOHNSON: I am researching my maternal grandparents' lineage. The lineage begins Marion Winifred JOHNSON who married Elvin Winfield Gough. The JOHNSON line has lead to Samuel JOHNSON who married Mary Otis in 1747.I have little information on Samuel JOHNSON's family though it appears that he is the father of a Stephen Otis JOHNSON born about 1760 probably in Rhode Island. The children of Stephen Otis JOHNSON were born in Maine and apparently lived in Machias Port (Machiasport), Maine. DORN: I came across information on my paternal ancestry on One World Tree on Ancestry.com that has extended my knowledge of the DORN family to Pomerania (Pommern) Germany. Other family surnames that I am currently researching include SMITH, RANDALL, BRYANT, and WEDMAN. I would appreciate any information from others researching these lines.

The Johnson and Bryant families were neighbors during several decades of the 1800s in and around Machiasport, Washington, Maine. My great-grandfather Frederick Johnson's mother was Emily Susan Bryant.GGreat-grandmother Emily Susan Bryant was the daughter of Joseph Bryant and Susan Lincoln. Emily Susan Bryant is a descendant of Stephen Bryant who is found in records of Duxbury, Massachusetts as early as 1638 showing family connections to the original Pilgrim colony. - Dorn Ancestors: Paternal Line (72 KB)
This tree begins with my father Harold Hugo Dorn and continues to Ernest Dorn and his wife Katerina, my ggg-grandparents who lived in Pomerania (Pommern), Germany. Also included are the little I know of the family of my paternal grandmother Isabelle Jeannette McDonald and her father Alexander McDonald. - Ancestors of Marion Winifred Johnson (1112 KB)
