------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome to the Foley & Rice of Eagle Harbor, Michigan Genealogy Site. My name is Daniel Wakeman and I am one of the current owners of home built by George Rice and Elizabeth O'Connor Rice, who were my fifth great grandparents. George and Elizabeth had a daughter, Mary-Ann, who married a gentleman from next door named John Foley forever connecting our two families.

The goal of this site is to collect information about the many decedents and ancestors of the Foley & Rice clan. We don't know much about either family before they immigrated to America from Ireland and are seeking this information.

One relationship we are having a problem with is how John Foley is related to Michael Smith. John and Michael were partners in a number of stores and markets, including the one in Eagle Harbor. Folklore has it they were cousins or related by marriage, but all attempts to confirm this have met with dead ends. If you have any information about the relationship between Mike and John we would be most grateful.

As of this writing, we have about 2000 people in the family tree

Please contact me if you think you may have some information you can share.

Sincerely,

Dan
