2. RACHAEL MARTHA² BANKSON (?¹) was born Abt. 1760 in On a ship immigrating from Ireland, and died in Shelby County, Illinois. She married CHARLES WAKEFIELD 1785 in South Carolina.

Notes for RACHAEL MARTHA BANKSON:
Tradition says that both Rachael (Bankston) Wakefield and her husband were born on the same ship while their parents were emigrating to this country from Ireland about 1760.

3. JAMES² BANKSON (?¹) was born 1765 in North Carolina, and died 1829 in Fayette County, Illinois. He married JUDITH LEE 1785, daughter of ROBERT LEE and SARAH LEE.

Notes for JAMES BANKSON:
According to Brad Shaffer of Seattle Washington, James was a Justice of the Peace (marrying Nancy Bankson and Jonathon Hill, and Andrew Bankson and Elizabeth Moore). Andrew Bankson, Was elected a state senator in 1822. He reached the rank of Colonel before he died, and served in the War of 1812 and the Black Hawk War of 1832.
