This website has been dedicated to Young Bird “YB” Walston; born 19 Aug 1911 and passing 01 Jan 2008. YB was a 3rd great-grandson of Henry W. Walston, Sr. who spent the last two decades of his life (with help & blessing of his wife Mary) bringing Henry’s descendants together each year for a reunion in Palestine, TX. I think we can all agree if it were not for his great effort, diligence, time, and love of bringing us together . . . much of what we’ve learned today of our Walston family history would still be only undiscovered memories. ARW I am researching the family Henry W. Walston, Sr. from Edgecombe Co., North Carolina. Henry Sr. first appears in the 1790 Edgecombe county census, but I don't know where he was before that or who his parents were. He married Mary Gay(daughter of James Gay in Edgecombe Co., NC) about 1796 and they had three daughters: Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah, and seven sons: James W., Joshua, Henry Jr., John, Benjamin B., William Alexander, Gilliam. I am particularly interested in information about his parents and ancestors. Any information would be appreciated and I am also willing to share the information that I have.
