Newspaper extract. A Centenarian Harvester at West Rainton. - It will be interesting to our readers to know that at West Rainton there is now living an old lady, named Jane Thompson, widow of the late Mr Philip Thompson, farmer, who is in her hundredth year. She is possessed of all her faculties, is remarkably active, and takes great interest in the management of her farm, on which she has resided for upwards of sixty years. During the recent hay harvest she was daily in the fields, and at present may be seen watching with much interest the ingathering of her wheat crops. Mrs Thompson often takes journeys to Sunderland and other towns by rail, and on Sunday last attended the Wesleyan Chapel at Rainton.
