Hamsphire Chronicle Sat. 10th Jan 1931 DEATH of MRS. MICKLAM.-A lady who was well-known to many in Winchester passed to her rest in the early hours of Wednesday morning in the person of Mrs. Jessie Micklam, of Ivanhoe, Hyde Abbey road. She was the widow of Mr. Thomas Micklam, architect and surveyor, one-time prominent as a member of the Winchester Town Council. Mrs. Micklam was a daughter of the late Mr. James Graham, of Collesie Fifeshire, Mr. and Mrs. Micklam had nine sons and daughters, eight of whom are living. The eldest son is in Kenya Colony. There are also twelve grandchildren. Mrs. Micklam was almost, if not quite the oldest member of the congregation of Holy Trinity Church, her association going back to the days of the Rev. G. A. Seymour, by whom the church was built. She always was actively interested in the church and parish, and kindly deeds were carried out by her in the best of all ways - quietly and unostentationaly. Mrs. Micklam was out and about last week, she was at the installation of the new Dean on Thursday, Jan 1st, and on Sunday morning was a worshipper at the service at Holy Trinity. Her illness came on suddenly and she lost consciousness, passing peacefully away in her sleep at 1:45 in the morning of Wednesday, the 7th. The funeral is taking place this afternoon, the first portion of the service at Holy Trinity Church at 2 o'clock, the interment following at West Hill cemetery.
