THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me THOMAS MICKLAM of "Oriel House" City Road in the City of Winchester Architect and Surveyor I appoint my cousin William Thomas Redding of Number 2 Jubilee Terrace Southsea in the County of Hants House and Estate Agent and my oldest daughter Clara Beatrice Selina Micklam (hereinafter called my trustees) to be the EXECUTOR AND EXECUTRIX and trustees of this my Will I give my gold Jubilee watch to my eldest son for the time being I give all my household goods and furniture and also all my Office furniture fittings and effects to my dear wife Jessie Micklamabsolutely I give devise and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my estate both real and personal whatsoever and wheresoever unto my trustees Upon trust that they shall receive the rents interest and yearly produce there of and thereout pay to my mother Ann Micklam the weekly sum of ten shillings during her life the first payment thereof to be made at the expiration of one week from mydecease and subject thereto shall (after paying the interest on any mortgages owing by me and keeping my real estate in good repair and insured against loss by fire)pay the balance of such rents interest and yearly produce to my said wife for her life and after her decease In trust for all my childrenwho being sons have attained or shall attain the age of twenty one yearsor being daughters have attained or shall attain that age or marry under that age in equal shares and if there shall be only one such child the whole to be in trust for that one child Provided always that if any child of mineshall die in my lifetime or in the lifetime of my said wife leaving a child or children who shall survive me and my said wife and being a son or sons shall attain the age of twenty one years or beinga daughter or daughters shall attain that age or marry under that age then and in every such case the last mentioned child or children shall take and if more than one equally between them the share which his or her or their parent would have taken of and in the residuary trust funds if such parent had survived me and my said wife and attained the age of twenty one years And I declare that my trustees may at their iwn discretion at any time or times in any manner and upon such terms as they may think fit sell any part of my residuary real estate as if they were the owners thereof And also may pay off any mortage or mortgages upon my estate and raise any sum or sums upon mortage of any part of my estate and may purchase other freehold or leasehold property the rents of which shall be paid as before directed I declare that all moneys payable to a female under this my Will shall be for her sole and separate use and free from any debts control or engagements of any husband whom she may marry I also declare that the power of appointing new trustees conferred by Statute shall be vested in my said wife during her life IN WITNESS whereof I have hereunto set my hand to this my Will this fourth day of January One thousand eight hundred and ninety eight - T MICKLAM - Signed by the said Thomas Micklam the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us both being present at the same time whpo at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses - WM THOS REDDING 2 Jubilee Terrace Southsea - VALENTINE T GARLAND St Valery Winchester.
