In the Name of God Amen I Roger Bramble of Dudsbury in the parish of West Parley in the County of Dorset Gentleman being infirm in body but of sound mind and memory and calling to mind the uncertain state of this transitory life do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say) first and chiefly I recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God hoping through the meritorious death and passion of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to inherit Eternal Life and salvation and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried according to the discretion of my executor hereinafter named and as for my worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I give and dispose thereof as followeth Imprimis I will that all my just debts and funeral expenses be first paid and discharged Item whereas I have made a competent provision for and upon my son William Bramble on his marriage with Mary his now wife daughter of Richard Lawrence of Tarrant Rushton in the county of Dorset Clerk of all and singular my lands tenements hereditaments with their and every of their appurtenances situate lying and being at Ensbury and Kingston within the parish of Canford Magna in the said county of Dorset and have also given to him and put him in possession of all my stock of cattle with the crop of corn and hay and working utensils belonging to the said estates Now I do hereby give and bequeath unto my said son William Bramble only one third part of all my indoor goods and household furniture which I shall dye possessed of and whereas my said son William Bramble in and by one Bond or Obligation bearing date on or about the twenty eighth day of November last past under his hand and seal (made on the contract of his said Marriage) is and stands bound unto my executors and administrators in the penal sum of eight hundred pounds with condition (amongst other things) there under written for the just and time payment of the sum of four hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain unto my executors or administrators within three months after my death Now I do hereby will direct and appoint that my executor hereinafter mentioned shall (in case my said daughter Hanny Bramble do and shall survive me) immediately after my decease call in the said sum of four hundred pounds and all interest there on according and use and take all lawful ways and means for recovering and receiving thereof and when received will and faithfully pay the same over unto my said daughter Hanny her executors administrators or assigns Item I give devise and bequeath unto my Grandaughter Jenny Harvey the sum of seventy pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid her when she shall attain the age of one and twenty years or be married which shall first happen and I do hereby direct and appoint that allowable interest for the said seventy pounds shall be paid yearly and every year to be accounted from the time of my death unto my daughter Jenny Harvey for her own use until my said Grandaughter shall attain her said age of one and twenty years or be married as aforesaid and my will is that the said sum of seventy pounds and interest for the same be paid them respectively by my son James Bramble out of the Lands Goods and effects to him hereafter given and bequeathed which I do hereby likewise direct shall stand and be charged and chargeable with the time payment thereof But if it should happen that my said Grandaughter Jenny shall dye before the said Legacy becomes due Then my will is that the same shall go to the second daughter of my said daughter Harvey payable in like manner to her as soon as she shall attain the age of one and twenty years or be married and in case of the death of such second daughter before the same becomes due and payable Then the same shall go to and be payable in like manner to the third daughter of my said daughter Harvey and in case all and every such daughter shall happen to dye not married and not having attained the said age Then my will is that the same shall go to second and every other younger son and sons of my said daughter Harvey successively as soon as he shall attain the said age of one and twenty years or be married Item I give unto the Church Wardens of the parish of West Parley and their successors for the time being to and for the use of the poor of the said parish for ever the sum of six pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid by my executor hereinafter named within one year after my death to be by them placed out at interest and the interest thereby arising to be laid out in shifts to be given to such poor people of the parish as have no alms or share in the collection of the said parish Item I give devise and bequeath and confirm unto my said son James Bramble and to his heirs and assigns for ever all and singular my Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments with their and every of their appurtenances that I shall dye possessed of or whereof or wherein I have any Estate of Inheritance or other estate whatsoever or wheresoever situate lying and being subject nevertheless to the payment of the Legacy herein before given to my Grandaughter Jenny Harvey or my other Grandchildren (in case of her death) in manner as is hereinbefore mentioned all the rest residue and remainder of my indoor goods or household furniture and other goods chattels moneys leasehold and personal estate whatsoever not hereinbefore given and bequeathed I give and bequeath unto my said son James Bramble whom I do hereby make constitute and appoint whole and sole executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former wills or testaments by me at any time heretofore made In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Roger Bramble of Dudsbury in the parish of West Parley in the county of Dorset Gentleman have made and declared my last will and testament bearing date the eleventh day of March in the year of our Lord 1746 I do hereby ratify and confirm the same except what is hereinafter or particularly mentioned to the contrary that is to say whereas I gave the one third part of all my indoor goods and household furniture unto my son William Bramble I do hereby give and bequeath the same unto my son James Bramble and in lieu thereof I do hereby order that my son William Bramble shall have only one third part of my late wife's goods and effects now remaining in my custody which I have ordered to be delivered unto him in my lifetime and I do hereby declare this codicil to be annexed to and to be part of my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand seal the Eighth day of July 1749 Roger Bramble Signed sealed published and declared by the said Roger Bramble to be part of his last Will and Testament in the presence of us Richard Corne William Derby This Will was proved at London with a Codicil annexed before the worshipful John Bettesworth Doctor of Laws Master Revered Commissary of the prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted on the ninth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty by the oath of James Bramble the son of the deceased and sole executor named in the said will to whom administration was granted of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased being first sworn Duly to administer
