3. JAMES PRATT3 PLUMMER (LUTHER THOMAS MARTIN2, THOMAS1) was born January 06, 1835 in Limestone Co., Texas6, and died November 17, 1862 in CSA in Arkansas6. He married (1) CANTHIA ANN STUART August 19, 1852 in Arkansas6. He married (2) MARTHA HOGAN March 03, 1861 in Limestone Co., Texas6.

Notes for JAMES PRATT PLUMMER:
James Pratt Plummer, b. 6 January 1835 at Parker Fort in Limestone County, Texas.
On the 19th of May 1836, Fort Parter was captured by a large band of Comanche and other tribes of Indians. Rachel (Parker) Plummer was taken by one tribe of Indians and her 18 month old son, James Pratt was taken by another tribe of Indians, and she never saw him again.
Rachel Plummer was found and returned to her family on the 19th of February, 1838; James Pratt Plummer was found and returned to his family on the 15th of January 1843. At this time he was 7 years old. He married Cynthia Ann Stuart on 19august, 1852. By this marriage he had 2 daughters; Phoebe Elizabeth Ann, and Mary Josephine, and 1 son, James Pratt Plummer, Jr.
Cynthia Ann Stuart died on 6th of September 1859. James Pratt Sr., married Martha Hogan on 3rd of March 1861, and they had one son, Wilds Pratt Plummer. James Pratt Plummer, Sr. died on 17th November 1862 somewhere in Arkansas during the Civil War. H had enlisted as a Private, Co. F, 15 Ret't Texas Cavalry at Springfield, Texas on 12 March 1962, at the age of 27 years, under Capt. Benjamin R. Tyus' Company.
This information is found in the Family Bible of Andrew Marion and Mary Josephine (Plummer) Smith; also from THE RACHEL PLUMMER NARRATIVE; also, from the National Archives and Records Service; General Service Administration, Washington, D. C. on Civil War Veterans.

Children: Phoebe Elizabeth Ann, Mary Josephine, James Pratt Plummer, Jr. and Wilds Pratt Plummer.

The above is from a letter Mrs Gussie Jewell Peters York to R. E. Plummer, Jr. April 1974. The below is the obituary of Wilds Plummer in Groesbeck paper Feb. 1957.

Wilds Pratt Plummer, born December 6, 1861, near Groesbeck, passed away following a stroke on February 10, 1957, in a convalescent home in Medford, Oregon. He was a great-grandson of elder John Parker of Fort Parker, which was established near the Navasota River in 1833, and a cousin of the famed Cynthia Ann Parker, who was captured in the raid in 1836 and held prisoner until released after the great Pease River Indian Battle of 1860.
Mr. Plummer's father was an 18-months old baby of L.T.M. Plummer and Rachel (Parker) Plummer, who was captured with his mother and others in the Fort Parker massacre, May 19, 1836.
As a young man, Mr. Plummer's career was varied, including mining, which took him to practically every state in the Union and Hawaii. he was married in Louisianna and five children were born to the union, his wife and two sons preceded him in death.
Three daughters survive, one id Canada, Mrs. Martha McGowan of Missoula, Montana, and Mrs Ethel Herring of Killeen, Texas. Also four grandchildren of Medford, Oregon, two nieces, Mrs. J. M. Peters and Mrs. H. C. Welch, both of Marlin; a nephew, E. H. Smith of Altus, Oklahoma and a great- niece, Mrs. E. C. (Bessie) Yeager, of Marlin.

Thanks for all the information. Mary Plummer, married N B Sikes, b
9/7/1846, d 3/8/1916, buried Plummer cemetery, Shiloh, Limestone Co. At
the time. that's all I have on any of them. Their daughter, Julia Emily, b
1868 was married to Benjamin Gregory, my grandfather. My mother, Nora
Alice, b 1899 married James Arthur Gilliam, my father.

Julia Emily had Inez, Annie, Martha,--sisters, and brothers, Hinton,
Fannin, Walter, Leroy. I don"t know the dates of birth. N B Sikes was a
preacher. Church of Christ, I think.

Would appreciate any further info on any of them.
