Descendants of Elijah Rice

1. Elijah² Rice (William¹) was born 1787 in Virginia or North Carolina, and died May 1860 in Carter County, Kentucky. He married Sarah Riffe, daughter of Gabriel Riffe and Elizabeth Munsey. She was born 1796 in Wythe County, Virginia, and died Aft. 1860.

Lawrence County was formed in 1822 from Floyd and Greenup County, Ky. Louisa is the county seat.

1840 Kentucky Census shows an Elijah Rice and Elijah Rice Jr in Lawrence County, Ky (027), but does
not show a Mathias Rice. It also shows an Elijah Rice in Fleming County (235)
