8. Mary³ Rice (Elijah², William¹) was born Abt. 1816 in Virginia. She married Hiram Moore. He was born 1820 in Kentucky.

Elijah Rice age 19 is living and working with Hiram Moore and Mary Rice. Assumed he was Mary's younger brother.

Birth Certificate: I hereby certify that on the 4th day of December 1852, a male child was born alive, at full time, at the house of Hiram Moore on Tygarts Creek. This child was the son of Hiram and Mary Moore, late Mary Rice, who reside on Tygarts Creek in Carter County. The child was named Virgil R. Orlando. Dated 17th March 1853 by Sarah Rice, M.W.

15. Rev. Robert Frence³ Rice (Elijah², William¹) was born March 13, 1840, and died April 30, 1919. He married Elizabeth Hewlett, daughter of Jeptha Hewlett and Elizabeth Barrett. She was born 1838, and died 1921.
