ENRY GLANCY JONES:
Henry was born and reared in Amite County, MS. He fought in the Mexican War as a private, Lieut. Col Noxon's Regt, Col Neilson's Detachment of Mississippi. 7th Regt (Perkin's Battalion) Mississippi. Militia. (Mississippi Historical Society, Vol. 4, p. 194-228)

He united with the East Fork Baptist Church by experience Sept. 1848. He served as the church clerk in 1851. Granted a letter of dismissal in 1852.

He was at the siege of Vicksburg and commanded a battery at Baton Rouge, LA. He was very hot headed and in the midst of the fight he leaped upon a cannon to better command his men, and was wounded and lost his leg. He walked with a crutch after this. He was well educated and taught school for a living.

His wife, Evelyn Wall, was born and reared in Amite County. She was at the home of her son Leonidas when she received the news that her son Charlie (Charles Wall JONES) was killed and fainted. She never regained consciousness, lived several days, and then died. She was buried at North Denham Springs, Old Amite Baptist Church, Livingston Parish, LA

ILLIAM BENJAMIN WALL:
William was a county judge of Houston County, Texas. He moved to Texas in 1859, joined the CSA in 1861- to Virginia with Gen. Louis T. Wigfall's Battalion of Infantry, then increased to Regiment and known as the 1st Texas Infantry, a part of Hood's Texas Brigade

Grew up on a farm. Quit school at age 20, went to Texas at age 21 in 1859. Taught school one year. In 1861, joined the Crockett Southrons, a company enlisted for the war and going to Virginia, was incorporated in General Louis T. Wigfall's battalion. He enlisted as a private but was soon elected 2nd Lieut. of his company. He participated in the battles of Seven Pines, Ethan's Landing, and in the seven days fighting around Richmond. At Gaines' Mill, he was twice wounded, being shot through the right hand and left arm, which disabled him. For gallant conduct in battle, he was promoted to the rank of captain and assigned to the Trans-Mississippi department. He was quartermaster of the first congressional district and commander of the post at Crockett, Texas till the close of the War.

1878 - elected county judge of Houston County, Texas
