Taken May 1, 1945 in England. Jim enlisted April 1, 1944 in the US Army. He was discharged March 21, 1946 with a victory ribbon,European - African - Middle East Theater Ribbon, one bronze star, one purple heart, and 2 over seas bars. He fought ought in the 117th infantry famous for the Battle of the Bulge. He was shot and wounded on January 17, 1945 in Belguim, Germany. A gunshot wound to his right chest left him with one lung. April 24, 1945 he returned to duty. He married Lillian Juanita Rose January 27, 1940.
