Picture taken in 1941. Frank was in the Military and left San Fancisco September 7, 1940 via ship to destination unknown. He fought on Bataan and was wounded when blown out of his tank. He was taken a Prisoner of War and was tortured, starved and without medical treatment for 42 months. He was in various P.O.W. Camps in Phillipines, Korea, Japan and finally Mukden, Manchuria. He survived the sinking of 3 Japanese ships which were taking prisoners home. The ships were not marked to show they were carrying P.O.W's. He married Lyla Pauline Rose March 9, 1940.
