Right now our primary research interest is the family of Peter Coulter of Virginia. Peter Coulter and his wife, Sarah, were in Fairfax County, Virginia by 1768. He died there in December 1828 or January 1829, and she died there in 1836.
Many of the families living near the Coulters and who married in to their family were from Maryland or Delaware. Some of these family names are: Atchison/Atkinson, Cooksey, Davis, Fairfax, Garner, Hutchison, Maddox/Mattox, Mills, Sealock, Smoot, and Stone.

We also are interested in the movement of whole families from Fairfax/Prince William County to Fauquier County and then on to Warren County. This is the path Peter's grandson, also Peter Coulter, took on his way to Ohio.
