Martha Frances "Mattie" Skelton (daughter of Joseph Skelton and Catherine Bradshaw)^{1667, 1668, 1669, 1670} was born December 14, 1857 in Hawkins County, Tennessee^{1671, 1672, 1673, 1674}, and died December 5, 1942 in Melissa, Collin County, Texas^{1675, 1676}. She married Charles Harrison Wallis on October 15, 1874 in Wylie, Collin County, Texas¹⁶⁷⁷, son of William Riley Wallis and Laura Emaline Hoskins.

Notes for Martha Frances "Mattie" Skelton:
Grannie Wallis (Martha) loved the creek bottom of Sister Grove Creek on her home place at Valdasta and Altoga. She refused to sell the beautiful native Burr oaks for timber during the Great Depression. Burr oaks thrive there to this day after six decades of Wallis Airhart's care.
