Jane Pitt (b. Abt. 1765, d. Bet. 1812 - 1827)
Notes for Jane Pitt:
Jane Pitts must have married Aron Butler just prior to the census of 1790. From the data on that document, the two had established a home, but had no children. That allows her birth date to be perhaps earlier, but as late as 1775. by the census of 1800, they had two sons and one daughter. In 1880, there were six children in the Butler home, although the names of only four of them have been discovered. Two boys may have died prior to the 1814 will of Celia, Jane’s sister. In fact, because of the contents of Celia’s will, it could be assumed that Jane herself had died by 1814. Another circumstantial proof of this is that no more children were born to the couple between the 1810 and 1820 census. There was no wife listed on a land document for Aron in 1827, and Aron had a new wife by 1830.
