I am searching for information pertaining to James Avery Wotton, born cir. 1808 in Massachussetts, died 1885 in New York. I have a good deal of information on his life as a Sea Captain and part owner of the NY-Havre Steamship Company, but no information on his ancestors.Also researching ancestors of Jeremiah Haines, b. 1838 in Cumberland Co., PA (father = John, mother = Kate), and of his wife, Sarah Zellers, b. 1841 in Juniata Co., PA. They were married Nov. 19, 1861in Juniata Co., PA.Also researching Swedish roots of Simon Skogsberg, b. 1849 in Varmland, Sweden, s. of J. Magnus Skogsberg & Anna Anderson. Simon came to the U.S. as a young man, as did his brothers Carl & Anders. Other family members not known, but suspect there was at least one sister who may have married someone named Soderlund.
