Notes for EDWARD LEAVELL: Believe Edward was in King & Queen County, Virginia in 1738 as Thomas Benson sold him 200 acres in Spotsylvania County, Virginia on branches of the Massaponnax River. Elizabeth was executrix of Edward's will in Caroline Co., Virginia August 14, 1755. I have a copy of Elizabeth's will November 14, 1775. Notes for JOHN LEAVELL: John (1720-1783) was in the Revolutionary War under Col. Burwell. He left Virginia for Kentucky but died in Greenbrier County, West Virginia before reaching Kentucky and is buried there. His family continued to Kentucky, then to Ohio, and onto Indiana.
