This is a web page for the Walker family. We are specifically looking for the ancestors of Edward Robertson Walker who was born January 25, 1817 in West Bellville, St. Clair, Illinois, and died March 18, 1877 in Lamoni, Decautur, Iowa. He was married to Ann Maria Cox on September 13, 1849, in Green, Illinois. His father was John Walker, born abt 1784 in Virginia and died in 1868 in Walkerville, Green, Illinois. Edward joined the Mormon church in the 1840's but left the church and returned to Lamoni, Iowa in about 1869. Two of his children returned to Salt Lake in 1872. The remainder of the family remained in the midwest, around Lamoni and we have totally lost touch with them. We believe that some member of the family may have records about the family which will help us determine the origins of the Walker family beyond John Walker.
In addition, this web page will serve as a clearing house for information about the Walker family who we can identify. We have numerous photographs of the family and family biographies. If anyone would like any of these they should contact Marlan C. Walker at the e-mail address indicated herein. Further, we intend to establish a web site where these materials can be located and downloaded at your convenience. Please watch this URL for further information.
