Blanche Orth
Blanche Marie Orth, 93, of Aurora, Colo., died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999, at Cherry Creek Nursing Center in Aurora.
Born Dec. 9, 1905, in Burlington, she was the daughter of John Ulrich and Dorothy Wilhelmina Behne Paulus. On June 3, 1926, she married Alvin William Orth in West Burlington. He died Jan. 19, 1995.
She was a graduate of Burlington High School and attended Burlington Junior College. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. While working for Northwestern Bell, she moved to numerous cities, including Denver in 1951, Loveland in 1989 and Aurora in 1993.
She was a member of Loveland First United Methodist Church, Telephone Pioneers Club, women's clubs in Denver and Waterloo and was a member of the Boone Order of Eastern Star for more than 50 years. She was active in the Loveland Valentine program.
Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn A. Hale of Aurora; a sister-in-law, Clara Paulus of Burlington; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
The funeral for Mrs. Orth will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home in Loveland, Colo., with the Rev. Phil Tarman officiating. Burial will be in Loveland Burial Park in Fort Morgan, Colo.
A memorial has been established for Loveland First United Methodist Church.
