Athanatius A. Aud (b. February 21, 1803, d. March 10, 1886)

Athanatius A. Aud (son of Zacharia Aud and Margaret Modesta Coomes)⁸⁰ was born February 21, 1803⁸¹, and died March 10, 1886⁸¹.

Entered St. Thomas Seminary, Feb. 11, 1819. Later left
seminary due tp failing health. Later studied medicine.
Still later re-entered the seminary. After 4 years of
teaching and studying, ordained a priest in 1836. Pastor of
St. Thomas Church in Bardstown, Kentucky, St. Stephen's in
Owensboro, Kentucky, and others. Was Chaplain at the
Loretto Motherhouse in Nerinx, Kentucky where he died and
is buried. Wrote a book of poetry, mostly in his 80th year.
