The Mathews nee Preston Family of Georgia

I'm looking for information on Moses Mathews: born in Halifax County, Virginia, married Sarah Finley, fought in the Revolutionary War and was awarded a land grant in Wilkes County, Ga.
Also, I'm looking for information for a John Mathews from the Edgefield District in South Carolina.He also fought in the Revolutionary war.
I'm hoping to find information for prior to the war.
