Walter & James Wall - to Allegheny Co, PA in 1766
Walter and James Wall left the NY/NJ area after their father, James Wall died in 1759. They arrived in what is now Allegheny Co, PA in 1766; and were part of the Jersey Settlement. Many of their descendants lived in Forward Township of Allegheny Co; which is south of Pittsburgh, at the intersection with Washington and Westmoreland Counties. We recently discovered our connection to the Wall family when we uncovered my grandfather's mother, Hannah Wall, 1859. We still do not know who Hannah's husband was. Hannah remarried a Mr Spencer, as we find an obituary for her mother, Christina White Wall in 1908, who died at her daughter's home (Hannah Spencer) in the Monessen/Webster area of Rostraver Twp, Westmoreland Co; or the Donora area of Washington Co, PA |
