The goal of this site, when completed, is to be both a research site and repository of information on James WALTON (WALTOM) of Onslow County, North Carolina, and his ancestors and descendents. By consolidating the efforts of many Walton genealogists, it is hoped that great strides can be made in the Walton family history.

The first written record of James WALTON (WALTOM) in Onslow County, North Carolina, is a deed record of 1739. Preliminary research suggests that he was originally from Chowan County, North Carolina.
His dates are: b. bef 1734, d. aft. Mar. 1773.
His wife was Jane Whitehurst, b. bef. 1755, d. abt. 1789.

The siblings of James were:
1. William Walton, b. abt. 1725.
2. John Walton, b. aft 1726, d. btw. 1777-1787.

The parents of James were: James, b. abt. 1710 in VA or England, d. aft 1740.
Sarah, d. aft 1739.
