| I've been "collecting" Phips/Phipps and related families for over 20 years. My main area of interest are Phipps of New England and New York and their descendants. I am a descendant of James and Mary Phips of Maine, who settled there prior to 1640. James was the father of Sir William Phips who was a brother to my ancestor John Phips. Sir William had no natural children of his own although most US Phipps descendants claim to be a descendant of him. Sir William did have an adopted son whose descendants returned to England following the American Revolution. I am looking for any and all information regarding the Phipps family to add to 100,000+ person database. I will share information on New England and New York Phipps lines if you have a proven connection to those areas. I'm sorry but I cannot honor requests for Gedcom files due to the size of my database. Please stop back soon as I will be adding information on my Phipps lines to these pages. Currently searching the Walker side of the family. Looking for these names in New York State - mainly Livingston, Ontario, Cauyga Co. areas; SMITH (William), GOHO, HAMPTON, WALKER, STRICKLAND, BARTHOLOMEW, FINCH, WOODWARD. |
