Walling 22 Feb 1834, son of Elias Walling and Catalyntje Vervalen. He was born 09 Sep 1809 in New York City, and died Bef. 1850.

Notes for Jane Banta:
Aunt Mamie (Mary b. 1892) Walling remembered her vaguely. Thought her to have been blind in old age.
Aunt Mamie was the one who pulled the name "Grannie Banta" out of the blue the night I asked her about the Walling family. Three lucky breaks, that I asked Aunt Mamie when I did, that she remembered, and that in her late 80's Jane Walling was still identified by her maiden name. These were followed by another a few years later when, sitting in the stacks at Drew University, I noticed the name Banta on a nearby shelf. It turned out to be "A Frissian Family" which unlocked a number of doors, though it turned out to be incorrect in several crucial details.

Originally thought to be dau of John & Jane Demarest but 1870 census record indicates she must be older and, if actually a Walling, possibly an otherwise unknown dau of Elias
