| Researching Surnames PHILLIPS - AL, AR, OK, TX TAYLOR - AL, AR CATES - NC, TN, ILL, MO, AR KURTZ (also found spelled as KURTS, CURTS or CURTIS) - PA, IA, AR WARD - NC, GA, FL SMITH - GA, FL The following reports cover 2 generations for each surname, except Smith. Although I have information pertaining to the Smith line, we're only allowed up to 5 reports on this page. I have been very fortunate to locate a lot of good, useful information online that I've been able to prove, utilizing census data and traveling. It is very important to research any family trees you locate online. A few years ago, my site was completely copied and posted at Ancestry.com, without my permission, by someone I didn't know, so I now limit the reports to 2 generations.
