The Dana Ward/ Deer Island Homepage

I am currently trying to connect my WARDS from Nova Scotia back to County Cork, Ireland. They arrived sometime in the mid-1700's. I am also looking for the colonial connections of some of my Deer Island Families which include COOK, WINSLOW, DEAN, BUTLER, and, LAMBERT. Some of the D.I. families I have already traced back to New England are PENDLETON, LORD, and STUART (STEWART).
Most of my family is from Deer Island, N.B., Canada. They arrived there after the Revolutionary War and live there still today. My research resources include "Passamaquoddy, Genealogies of the West Isles" by Martha Ford Barto, personal reseach at the Charlotte County Archives in St. Andrews, N.B. and many books on colonial New England.

I am always looking for friends and relations from Deer Island.
