| We, Melanie Hampton-Banford of Sacremento CA & Dennis Ware of Saint Paul MN, are researching the Hampton family of Ashley & Bradley Counties, Arkansas. Ed Hampton was married to Letha Pugh and they had (8) children: Lissie, Willie, Amzie (male), Lilla, George, Mary, Ester (male), and David. The family is of African American decent and records & dates are difficult to find and several birth and marriage dates are unavailable; any additional information would be appreciated. This project was started on July 5th 1997 at a Hampton Family Reunion gathering at the residence of Goodlow and Frances Hampton in Pasadena, CA. Vernice Hampton-Surrey was kind enough to sit for approximately 3 hours and provide the family's history. |
