This Home Page is related to my parents family tree. They are Gilbert Cyril Ward, born in Alief, Texas, in 1896 and Mary Bernice Pyles, born near Whitesboro, Texas, in 1902.My father's family moved to Texas in the 1890s from western Tennessee, probably near Dyersburg, north of Memphis. Their forefathers likely came to Tennessee from North Carolina. My father's mother's maiden name was Wright.My mother's father came to Texas from North Carolina via Georgia, after the Civil War. My mother's mother, surname was Ward (Ward on both sides of the family) came to Texas from Indiana, probably in the 1880's. Several generations of the Wards settle in Indiana, from New Jersey and New York, probably in the 1820s.Jimmy Ward |
