Mildred had an uncle (General David McCreary of the 145th Pennsylvania Volunteers) who survived the battle of Gettesburg. Mildred was about 6 years old when she heard Lincoln's Gettysburg address.

Lew Dockstader was on stage from 1874 to 1924 in minstrels and vaudeville. He was the last of the great minstrel producers and stars. He gave Al Jolsen his big break when he hired him into his show in 1906. From 1905-1912, Lew Dockstader cut 3 records for Columbia. He owned a theater on Broadway and was well known and well liked throughout the United States. He is the great grandfather of John Ward.

Eugene Manguse was a "49er" who took a sailing ship down to Panama, walked across and caught a ship on the other side to travel up to San Francisco in 1849. He got enough gold to pay his passage with enough left over to make a ring. His father fought in Neopleon's army. Matilda married two more times after Eugene died. They lived in Central Square, New York. Their son was William Picard Manguse. Eugene had a brother whose name I do not know.
