| Most of my research into my family name of WARD has come from old family information and has been confirmed by Birth, Marraige and Death certificates. The oldest information I have starts on the Isle of Wright, Hampshire, England. The family is listed as boat builders and carpenters at that time and it was about 1870 that Robert John, born 1852 was listed as a butcher in the Portsea area of Hampshire. The Ward and Hammond lines who were both butchers got together in the early 1900. Information before 1846 has not been confirmed but I feel that it is mostly correct. As all of my family is in England no reunions have been held and other members in England are not interested in the family history. |
