| Larry and I have been doing genealogy on our families for about 10 years. His Ward family is from Eastern Kentucky and were probably Scotch-Irish. His mother's Goble family is German and has been in this country for almost 250 years. My background is Irish and Austrian. My father is first generation Austrian. His parents came to this country in the early 1900s. The surname is Rauschl. My mother's Irish ancestors came to this country about the time of the Famine. The surnames Larry is researching are Ward, Goble, Setser, Harmon, Harris, Porter, Walker, and several others who were in VA, NC, and KY. The Irish surnames I'm researching are Waldron, Noonan, Sullivan, McLaughlin, Grady. We'd like to hear from others researching these family names and interested in doing genealogy in the Midwest and in KY. |
