Research on our family ancestry started a few years back when I was inspired by all the old family photographs, obituaries, and miscellaneous articles saved over the past many years by my great-grandmother Florence Jane Carter who passed away on March 20, 2003 at the age of 98. I really became interested after reading old news paper articles and the obituary about my 4th great-grandfather Hiram H. Boone and his pioneer days, shaking president Abraham Lincoln's hand, and Hiram's pro-claimed relationship as being a grand-nephew of the famous fronteersman "Daniel Boone".Hiram lived to be 105 years old. We have pictures of him at age 103 with his great-great-gandson Everett Paul Carter,Jr., my grandfather, sitting on Hiram's knee. I have collected enough data to list over 100 individuals going back 15 generations in our lineage.Hiram loved telling about his life stories... and reporting to be a grand-nephew of Danile Boone, may have just been another story. We are definetely related to the Boone family as resources direct us as far back as the early 1600's.
