The Swiecikowski Family of Chicago, Illinois

The Swiecikowski family of Chicago, Illinois originated from the Poznan area of Poland which is located within the Province of Wielkopolska, or "Greater Poland".

The Polish immigrants who came in the late 19th century, as did the Swiecikowski family, did so mostly for economic reasons. Land hunger was a prime motive for emigration in the Polish communities and this translated into the urge to own a home in America, or perhaps their homeland.
