Alex Wardrick, my paternal great grandfather, was the son of Limb (possibly Lemuel) Wardrick--a German Jew who came down from Richmond, Virginia to North Carolina with the Railroad in 1860 --and Sarah Gupton (German, possibly a Jewess).

Alex was born December 28, 1870 in Gold Mine, Franklin County, North Carolina and died May 24, 1946 in Griffin Township, Nash County, Castalia, North Carolina. Alex Wardrick married Mary "Puss" Stallings (Cherokee) of North Carolina. Mary was born November 20, 1869 and died January 03, 1945. Alex, Mary and family are listed on the 1920 Census for NC, but the surname is spelled WARUPROBE.
