| The Warner-Burke name began when I (Michael Burke) married Joyce Warner in 1972. My family is from Germany and Ireland on my Father's side and from Sweden and Denmark on my Mother's side. My maternal Grandfather (Viggo Sigvardt) came to America from Denmark at the turn of the Century and my materal Grandmother (Ida Swenson) joined him shortly thereafter. They homesteaded in Montana and ended in Great Falls, Montana where my mother (Marie Sigvardt) grew up. My paternal Great-Great Grandfather (Dominck Burke) and Great-Great Granmother (Bridgette Mehan) came from Ireland to the goldrush area of California in 1850. My father (William Burke) grew up in Oaland CA and Oleta, CA (also known as Fiddletown). I am interested in tracking Dominick Burke's history in County Mayo, Ireland before he came to America, and what happened to his son John after he left Amador County. |
