| Levin Ward came to America from England in the mid 1790s. Prisicilla Price and her Sister Liddie (both unmarried) were on the same ship. Levin and Prisicilla were married after they landed in Maryland. They soon moved to Stokes County (later known as Davie County), North Carolina. The 1790 Census for the Salisbury District of Stokes Co. which was later in Davie Co. list Levin Ward household of one male over 16 years, three males under 16, and five females.Levin Ward is my 3rd Great Grandfather. Wiley Jones Ward is my 2nd Great Grandfather. Samuel S. Ward is my Great Grandfather. Wiley G. Ward is my Grandfather. Wiley J. and Samuel S. were born, married and died in Davie Co., NC. Wiley G. was born and married there but moved to Marshall County, Iowa in 1893 after his first wife died in Davie Co. Wiley G. married Kate G. Butler on Feb. 21, 1897 in Marshall Co., Iowa. Names on my Mother's side would be Granger (her maiden name), Kurfees, Stonestreet, Hampton, Blackburn, Wellman. Any information that anyone has would be greatly appreciated and we will be happy to share anything that we have. |
